does it work?
Collect Pledge Donations
today, students should begin collecting pledges. Please
support your child’s attempts to solicit donations by encouraging
him/her to ask local and long distance family and friends, as well as
neighbors, doctors, dentists,
etc. Students should ask sponsors to pledge a flat donation and
in exchange they promise to give every effort to run as many laps as
possible in the allotted time. Per lap pledges are also
allowed! The completed pledge sheets and envelope with
donations should be returned
no later than Friday,
students are encouraged to run regardless of whether they have
collected pledge donations. Students will run a quarter mile course
behind the school with classmates from their grade level. A
schedule of when each grade will jog will be posted in the next
couple of weeks.
will be awarded to students based on donations collected. There will
also be a ribbon for the girl and boy in each class who run the most
laps. Prizes will be delivered to students about 2 weeks
after pledge sheets and donations have been collected.
much time does my child have to collect pledges?

pledge sheet will be sent home with each student following an
assembly on Friday, October 2nd. You can also download a pdf on the
Hallinan PTO website.
are the donations and the pledge sheet envelope due back at school?

my child jog even if he/she hasn’t collected pledge donations?
All students are expected to jog. This should be a fun event that
includes all students from all classes.
should my child jog on the day of the event if he/she is collecting
flat donations for pledges?
earning money for the school, the intention of this fundraiser is to
promote health & fitness, school spirit and a sense of
accomplishment. By jogging with their class on the day of the event,
they have the opportunity to experience each of these. To give the
kids a little extra motivation, we will again be awarding ribbons to
the boy and girl in each class who run the most laps.
if my child has a medical condition that the nurse should be aware of
on the day of the event?
every student is encouraged to jog, we understand that there are some
who may have medical conditions or special needs that limit them in
their participation. If this is the case, please speak with your
child's teacher so they are aware of any needs your student may have.
time and for how long does each grade jog?
grade will run for 20 minutes.
I come to school to cheer on my child on the day of the event?
Parents are welcome and encouraged to join us at the school
on Wednesday, October 7th to cheer from the sidelines and
participate in the fun. Walk to School and stay to celebrate!

Would you please support Hallinan Elementary School?
Each year the students of Hallinan race around the school's quarter mile track to raise money for special projects. In the past they have pounded the pavement to purchase a mobile computer lab and for incredible arts and science programming. They are a dedicated bunch of kids!
